Celebrating the best of Georgia– rich culinary traditions and gracious hospitality – macon bistro re-interprets southern cooking through the lens of a traditional French bistro. On the plate, we’re all about seasonality, local sourcing, and dishes that comfort and inspire. In the glass, we offer an eclectic selection of French wines, craft cocktails and micro-brews. It’s Macon, Georgia meets Macon, France….southern garden party meets bistro luxe.

Located in the Chevy Chase Arcade building, which was built in 1925 and is included on the National Register of Historic Places, the bistro combines elegance (soaring windows, vintage fixtures) with energy (20-stool bar and an open kitchen). Evenings at macon are a bustling affair for neighbors and destination diners alike. We’re open for dinner Tuesday through Sunday. Click HERE for the bistro menu and HERE for our cocktail list.

We hope you’ll like macon so much that you’ll want to take a little bit of it home with you. The larder (an old-fashioned word for pantry or cupboard) offers some of our house-made items, packaged and ready to travel. Love the cheese coins? Pick up a bag. The larder offers treats that make great gifts (sea-salt caramels, coconut macaroons, pepper jelly) as well as items to round out a meal at home (ready-to-bake biscuits, granola, house vinaigrette). The larder is open Tuesday through Sunday from 2:00 til restaurant closing time. Everything is made fresh at macon, so selections vary from day to day, but you can see our larder HERE.
